PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for modifying wood using a wood dimension stabilization composition that can prevent the deterioration of dimensional stability without eluting even when used outdoors where it can be exposed to moisture.;SOLUTION: Wood is impregnated with a wood dimension stabilization composition containing a polyhydric alcohol and a polycarboxylic acid, and then it is heated.
