LEAKAGE SITE DETECTION METHOD OF WATER SUPPLY PIPELINE AND INSTRUMENT USED THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of detecting a leakage site of a water supply pipeline by olfactory sensation, not by auditory sensation, nor by visual sensation.SOLUTION: A method detects a leakage site of the water supply pipeline embedded in the earth. The method is carried out by focusing an attention to the fact that the materials sensed by olfactory sensation, which is different from the auditory sensation and the visual sensation, are easily diffused from the earth and easily detected, and when the olfactory sensation of a dog is used, the olfactory sensation called to be 100,000 times the human being can be utilized. The method comprises: a step of closing a stop cock to stop the water supply, feeding a pressurized liquid from one of the water faucets after all water faucets are released, and discharging the remaining water in the pipeline; a step of pressurizing smell components contained in the pressurized liquid to be diffused into the earth after discharging the remaining water from the pipeline leakage site; and a step of making a detection animal moving along the pipeline sense the smell component diffused into the earth from the pipeline crack and detect the leakage site.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
