The present disclosure describes a method for classifying two or more different populations, eg, Alzheimer's disease. The present disclosure utilizes a novel two-step analysis, such as related biomarkers, to enhance the separation of Alzheimer's disease patients from the same age control and non-Alzheimer's disease dementia patients. The analysis accounts for the linear dependence of the output variable on input variables that are altered by variables such as fetal bovine serum, patient age, and / or protein concentration.
