PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple septic tank control device which always detects the dirt state of a septic tank and is capable of warning immediately when the purification performance of the septic tank deteriorates to possibly discharge foul water and a septic tank provided with a control device using the septic tank control device.SOLUTION: A septic tank control device includes a casing 1 formed with a large number of through-holes 9, attachment means 50 of attaching the casing inside the septic tank, an LED14 provided in the casing 1, a light-receiving sensor 16 which is provided in the casing 1 and receives light from the LED 14, detection means of detecting the light reception amount of the light reception sensor 16 and outputting detection signals and display means of displaying the dirt state of a liquid passing through the casing 1, on the basis of the detection signals, outside the septic tank.
