PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for clarifying water to be treated which can remove metal ions from a water to be treated continuously and efficiently and is easily maintained, and a method for clarifying water to be treated using the same.SOLUTION: The apparatus for clarifying water to be treated is provided which comprises a first treatment bed including material containing an organic substance including protein and a second treatment bed including a biological treatment material including sulfate reducing bacteria and grain husks and in which a water to be treated containing metal ions and sulfate ions is allowed to flow through the first treatment bed and the second treatment bed in this order to remove the metal ions from the water to be treated. The apparatus for clarifying water to be treated further comprises a water quality regulating tank including a water quality regulating material, and further comprises a flow-through means for flowing through the water to be treated in the order of the water quality regulating tank, the first treatment bed and the second treatment bed.
