PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring the length of a flat sent material in the sent material processing system.SOLUTION: A control unit is provided for counting the encoder pulse of an encoder of a first station. A first sensor of a second station detects an event, and a corresponding numerical value Z1 of an encoder pulse counter is stored into a first register of the control unit of the first station. A numerical value Z2 showing the distance d between sensors is stored in the second register of the control unit of the first station. A sensor of the first station detects another event, and a corresponding numerical value Z3 of the encoder pulse counter is stored into a third register of the control unit of the first station. As soon as the two event occurred, the control unit of the first station adds up the difference Δ=Z3-Z1 between the counter states Z3 and Z1 and the numerical value Z2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
