PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking support device which accurately detects a traverse white line at a rear end of a parking frame, and a traverse line detection method of the parking frame.SOLUTION: A parking support device comprising imaging means and traverse line detection means comprises: vehicle moving means; and traverse line determination means which includes that a traverse line is moved on an image accompanied by the movement of a vehicle. In the parking support device, a stripe resulting from light which is emitted from a rear lamp is set so as to be in a vehicle traverse direction, the traverse line detection means determines the traverse line when the luminance of the traverse line is higher than a threshold, and the threshold is a value higher than the luminance of the stripe, and lower than luminance which is obtained by adding the luminance of the lightest traverse line out of traverse lines of the parking frame to the luminance of the stripe. Furthermore, a traverse line detection method of the parking frame determines the traverse line of the parking frame in the case that a preset condition is satisfied, and the condition includes that the movement of the traverse line is detected on the image accompanied by the movement of the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
