PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harmful ion removal method and removal apparatus for drinking water, allowing for removal of a harmful ion and suppression of an increase in pH of the drinking water.SOLUTION: The harmful ion removal method for drinking water comprises: a step S1 of bringing water to be treated containing a harmful ion into contact with a hydrotalcite-like compound to remove the harmful ion in the water to be treated; and a step S2 of bringing the water to be treated having contacted with the hydrotalcite-like compound into contact with a pH adjustment member to adjust pH of the water to be treated having contacted with the hydrotalcite-like compound.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
