PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable determination of the presence or absence of a pan and/or the material of the pan without increasing the loss of a switching element in an electromagnetic induction heating device.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic induction heating device 11 has a heating coil 7 for inductively heating a pan, a resonance circuit 8 configured to contain the heating coil 7 and a resonance capacitor 80, a voltage resonance inverter 4 which is configured by connecting a diode D0 and IGBT 50 in parallel and drives the resonance circuit 8, and a control circuit 6 for driving the voltage resonance inverter 4, making IGBT 50 perform a switching operation at least once when the pan is determined, and determining the presence or absence of the pan and/or the material of the pan on the basis of the attenuation vibration time and/or the vibration period of the resonance circuit 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
