PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for analyzing the temporal change of catalytic performance which enable analysis of the performance of the catalyst at individual positions with high accuracy even when performance deterioration of a catalyst varies at different positions in the catalyst layer, like a chemical reaction process using a catalyst packed in a fixed bed circulation type catalytic reaction column, and optimization of operation conditions for adjustment of production.SOLUTION: A method and an apparatus for analyzing the temporal change of the catalytic performance can: in a chemical reaction process using a catalyst packed in a fixed bed circulation type catalytic reaction column, calculate the amount of change of the catalytic performance on the basis of the total amount of a target product within a use period of the catalyst and the temperature of the catalyst layer after the lapse of the use period, and analyze the temporal change of the catalytic performance from the amount of change of the activation energy.
