PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance instruction system capable of reducing a burden felt by a performer that is caused by pronunciation of an assist sound.SOLUTION: A CPU16 determines that a pitch corresponding to a key pressed by a performer matches a pitch represented by a "note number" (S37:YES). In response to the determination, if it is before a guide sound timing, the CPU determines that the guide sound timing does not arrive (S53:NO). An electronic keyboard musical instrument 1 does not pronounce a guide sound based on the "note number", in order to skip a step S55 and to proceed to a step S59. The performer, capable of manipulating the key guided to be displayed, is made to avoid hearing a guide sound regarded as an assist sound, and is freed from a burden caused when the guide sound is emitted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
