The optical generator 10, 54 that directs light to the patient's target includes at least one light source 12, 56 that emits red and infrared light. At least one light source 12, 56 is embedded in the light guide sheet 18, 58. A light distributor 16 is spaced from at least one light source 12, 56. The light distributor 16 includes a light emitting surface 28 and at least one light receiving surface 32 that is optically coupled to the light guide sheets 18, 58. The light distributor 16 sends at least a part of the emitted red light and at least a part of the emitted infrared light to the target.
