PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dynamo-electric motor capable of easily correcting a balance with high precision even after utilization for a long period and a machine tool having the dynamo-electric motor.SOLUTION: A dynamo-electric motor 1 and a machine tool 10 having the dynamo-electric motor 1 comprises: a cylindrical stator 2; a rotor 3 including a rotational axial part 31 inserted into an inner part of the stator 2; a housing 4 attached to both terminals in an axial direction of the stator 2; a terminal box 5 attached to the housing 4 and housing a terminal board 50, and further comprises: an opening part 5a that is provided in the terminal box 5 so as to be passed through the housing 4 and opened, and is arranged so as to be separated from a ventilation path 9 formed in the stator 2; and a first balance correction component 61 that is attached to the rotational axial part 31 and corrects the balance of the rotor 3.
