PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elasto-plastic energy absorber capable of exhibiting high energy absorption performance and a bearing wall structure including the same.SOLUTION: An elasto-plastic energy absorber A is constituted of a flat plate material 1 which has a width direction X and a length direction Y in which an upper flange 12 and a lower flange 14 are alternately formed being interposed by a web 13 in the width direction X by folding the same along a ridge-folding line 10 and a valley-folding line 11 in the length direction Y. The lower flange 14 is a fixed flange which is fixed to a building structure member. The dimension of the ridge-folding line 10 in the length direction Y at the boundary of the web 13 and the upper flange 12 is arranged to be smaller than the dimension of the valley-folding line 11 in the length direction Y at the boundary of the web 13 and the lower flange 14.
