PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel group-management elevator device and a method for assigning serial numbers of cars to get on in a group management, capable of generally reducing a ratio of users waiting for long time while suppressing a state in which long waiting time is concentrated on particular users.SOLUTION: A method for assigning serial numbers of cars to get on in a group management comprises: generating request for users having high occurrence frequency of long waiting time to change a car to get on, using information on users past long waiting occurrence frequency and users present predicted waiting time; temporarily assigning a car to which the user is changed to get on, and which will not wait long its second round user if changed; determining a car to be changed to, which reduces the user's waiting time and which will not wait long its second round user; and changing the car to which the users having high occurrence frequency of long waiting time are get on, to the above-determined car. This method can generally reduce a ratio of users waiting for long time while suppressing a state in which long waiting time is concentrated on particular users.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
