The invention provides a polyving akohol thin film having excellent release property suitable for a basic film for a heat transfer printing stack and a manufacturing method thereof, the heat transfer printing stack using the thin film and a heat transfer printing method using the stack. The polyving akohol thin film is characterized in that 1-15 weight parts of poly alkylene glycol (B) with the weight-average molecular weight below 1000 is included with respect to 100 weight parts of polyving akohol resin (A).
