PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently performing treatment with respect to such treatment as to subject coarse SS and fine SS in water together to coagulation sedimentation and to remove them together.SOLUTION: In a removal treatment method of suspended material in water, a cationic or amphoteric cross-linking type aqueous polymer having a cross-linking structure prepared by performing polymerization while causing cross-linking monomer with mass of 0.5 to 300 ppm to coexist, with respect to the total amount of raw material monomer which contains at least one of monomers represented by general formula (1), (2) by 5 mol% or more as an essential component is used as a polymer coagulant, when occurring in the state where a polymer coagulant is coexisted within water of the turbulent flow state in which coarse SS and fine SS coexisted and then removing the SS together. In addition, when a cross-linking degree is expressed by a value obtained by dividing a viscosity measured in the state that an aqueous solution is diluted to 200 times with pure water by a viscosity measured in the state that a salt aqueous solution is diluted to 80 times with 4% saline solution, the value gets to 5 to 200.SELECTED DRAWING: None
