PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe settlement method using an instant message in a settlement server.SOLUTION: A settlement server is configured to receive a settlement request to merchandise or a service from a device of a seller, and to determine whether or not reception permission or rejection of a first instant message for performing settlement is set in a terminal of a settling person in response to the settlement request, and to request an instant message server to transfer a second instant message for receiving an input signal to permit or reject the reception of the first instant message to the terminal of the settling person, and to, when receiving information related to the input to permit the reception of the first instant message from the terminal of the settling person correspondingly to the second instant message, request the instant message server to transfer the first instant message to the terminal of the settling person during an effective time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2a
