PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create an insulin resistance improving agent and a health supplement capable of preventing insulin resistance disorders using the same which exhibit the improving action against insulin resistance disorders caused by visceral obesity to widely prevent insulin resistance disorders.SOLUTION: Provided is an insulin resistance improving agent containing as an active ingredient a liquid component obtained by using a saccharified product prepared by hydrolyzing starch with amylase as a culture substrate, adding Yeast extract into this to prepare a culture medium for fermentation, inoculating Bacillus Subtilis AK (FERM P-18291) into this culture medium, and producing after fermenting and maturing. The invention provides an agent which can improve various insulin resistances, e.g., lipid metabolism disorder or glucose metabolism disorder, control enhanced production of inflammatory adipocytokine or decreased production of anti-inflammation adipocytokine, improve the insulin resistance caused by inflammation or infiltration of macrophages, and become an improving agent of insulin resistance caused by enhance of an oxidative stress, and also a health supplement which can prevent various diseases caused by insulin resistance.
