The present disclosure provides a method and apparatus for grouping a smart device in a smart home system, which achieves that the smart device can be automatically grouped according to the user's use habit. The method includes: determining (S101) a preset target group corresponding to the smart device according to recorded historic operation information of the smart device; and grouping (S102) the smart device according to the preset target group.
