PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photointerrupter which can be miniaturized.SOLUTION: The photointerrupter includes: a substrate 1; a light-emitting element 21 disposed on the substrate 1; a light-receiving element 22 disposed on the substrate 1; a translucent light-receiving side resin part 3 covering the light-receiving element 22; a translucent light-emitting side resin part 4 separated from the light-receiving side resin part 3 with a gap 59 therebetween and covering the light-emitting element 21; and a light-shielding film 6 covering the light-receiving side resin part 3 and the light-emitting side resin part 4. The light-receiving side resin part 3 has a light incident surface 38 exposed from the light-shielding film 6. The light-emitting side resin part 4 has a light emission surface 48 exposed from the light-shielding film 6. Both the light incident surface 38 and the light emission surface 48 face the gap 59.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
