PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct pressure type vertical injection molding machine large in mold opening/closing stroke and capable of suppressing height of a fixing disc.SOLUTION: There is targeted a vertical injection molding machine (1) with a direct pressure type tightening device (2). A mold tightening cylinder (15) is constituted with a multistage from one piston body (20) and two or more cylinder bodies (17, 18). In short, the piston body (20) is fitted so as to freely advance and retreat to one cylinder body (18) and the cylinder body (18) is fitted so as to freely advance and retreat to another cylinder body (17).
