This porous film slurry for a secondary battery separator contains non-conductive particles, a porous film binder, and a medium, and the porous film binder contains: a porous film binder (A) that is in a particle form and that has a potential degree of swelling with respect to a non-aqueous electrolyte after porous film formation of less than a factor of 10; a porous film binder (B) that is in a particle form and that has a potential degree of swelling with respect to the non-aqueous electrolyte after porous film formation of a factor of 10-50; and a porous film binder (C) that is in a non-particle form and that has a potential degree of swelling with respect to the non-aqueous electrolyte after porous film formation of less than a factor of 5.
