Provided is a closed-loop system and method for the seamless population to a customer's inventory management software of information regarding things purchased from a vendor. In the case of loss, damage or theft of the purchased thing(s), this system and method allows for the automation of an insurance claim and possible replacement of thing(s) from the original vendor.
