The present invention relates to a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence at least 85% identical to the amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO. 1, wherein the residues Lys⁹⁰⁵, Arg⁹⁰⁹, and Arg⁹¹² contained therein are present, for use as a medicament, in particular for its use as an inhibitor of FGF-2 induced angiogenesis.
