The invention discloses a method for replacing a data block in a cache, including: selecting, at a specified interval, an available way from available ways of a first mode as a used-for-replacement way of the first mode, where each available way of the first mode has an equal probability of acting as the used-for-replacement way of the first mode, the first mode is one of multiple modes, and the available ways of the first mode are ways allocated to the first mode; receiving a first data access request, where the first data access request includes an identifier of the first mode; and storing a data block, to be accessed by using the first data access request, in the used-for-replacement way of the first mode when the data block to be accessed by using the first data access request is not stored in the cache.
