In one embodiment, the present invention uses semen straws with reduced sperm count from a bull stud, which is not selected by sex. In another embodiment, the bovine technician may cut an unspecified semen straw by bristling 20 million sperm into several pieces to use one piece at a time per cow to effectively reduce sperm count during insemination. in another embodiment, semen straws with reduced sperm counts may be filled with semen selected by sex by the manufacturer; In another embodiment, the AI technician may melt a vane and immediately mix unselected semen with sufficient diluent to inseminate two or more females. a procedure is disclosed for using a) the artificial insemination instrument, b) semen with reduced sperm count from any of the sources mentioned above, c) a non-toxic syringe and d) a diluent to achieve conception rates at least as good as conventional design rates with prior art devices and procedures.
