This electronically controlled pneumatic brake system (S) for an automotive vehicle (T) comprises a pneumatic brake actuator (4L, 4R) driving a respective brake mechanism (2L, 2R) and being fed with gas under pressure to fulfill a service brake function and a park brake function, a first electronic control unit (14) adapted to process electric signals and an electric park brake module (16) controlled by the first control unit and adapted to selectively deliver gas under pressure. This system also comprises a second electronic control unit (38) adapted to process electric signals, an electric service brake module (32) controlled by the second control unit and adapted to selectively deliver gas under pressure, a pneumatic park brake relay valve (18) adapted to deliver gas under pressure to the pneumatic brake actuator. A selective valve (22) has a first inlet port (222) connected to the outlet port (162) of the electric park brake module (16), a second inlet port (224) and an outlet port (226) connected to a pilot inlet port (182) of the pneumatic park brake relay valve (18). A connection valve (28) selectively connects the second inlet port (224) of the selective valve (22) to an outlet port (322) of the electric service brake module (32) or to a source (8) of gas under pressure.
