According to the present invention, there is provided a method for obtaining an individual's blood pressure measurement using a non-invasive pani blood pressure monitor; a pulse rate sensor, a cuff intended to be arranged around an individual's limb, and a pump for inflating the cuff, the method comprising: using the pulse rate sensor to obtain frequency information pulse rate of the individual; adapting a pressure signal filter according to the individual's pulse rate information obtained; initiate cuff inflation using the pump; obtain a pressure signal representing the pressure in the cuff as the cuff is inflated; filter the pressure signal using the pressure signal filter adapted during cuff inflation; and processing the filtered pressure signal to obtain a blood pressure measurement for the subject during cuff inflation.
