Catalytic materials and in particular rhodium-containing catalytic materials for exhaust gas purification catalyst composites are provided herein. such materials comprise rh-containing multimetal nanoparticles, which are present mainly within aggregate particles of a support (such as alumina). Such catalytic materials may exhibit excellent conversion of hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides.
