A steam sterilization refrigerator (1) and a control method thereof are disclosed. The steam sterilization refrigerator (1) includes a refrigerator body (20) having a refrigerating compartment (21) and a compressor chamber (22) therein; a door body (30) disposed to the refrigerator body (20); and a steam generator (10) disposed to at least one of the refrigerator body (20) and the door body (30), the steam generator (10) having a steam outlet (1013), and the steam outlet (1013) being in direct communication with the refrigerating compartment (21) or in indirect communication with the refrigerating compartment (21) via a steam conveying channel (40).
