Reduced emissions in a jet fuel having aromatic content can be achieved by incorporating an amount of an aromatic kerosene fuel blend component, preferably a bioderived synthetic aromatic kerosene comprising at least 90% by weight of aromatics, less than 10% by weight of indanes and tetralines and less than 1% by weight of naphthalene in a jet fuel in a manner such as to meet the aroma content content of jet fuels. A jet fuel that has aromatic content that has reduced number-based nvpm emissions compared to the total equivalent aromatic content of petroleum-derived kerosene jet fuel is obtained.
