Plastic formulation for the production of plastic bottles in a two-step stretch blow-molding process, comprises a high density polyethylene (HDPE) (at least 60%) having a density of 0.941-0.965 g/cm 3 and a first melt index of 190[deg] C/2.16 kg of 0.1-0.9/10 minutes according to ISO 1133, where the HDPE comprises a mono- or multi-modal HDPE having a second melt index of 190[deg] C/2.16 kg of 5-50 g/10 minutes according to ISO 1133. Plastic formulation for the production of plastic bottles in a two-step stretch blow-molding process, comprises a high density polyethylene (HDPE) (at least 60%) having a density of 0.941-0.965 g/cm 3 and a first melt index of 190[deg] C/2.16 kg of 0.1-0.9/10 minutes according to ISO 1133, where the HDPE comprises a mono- or multi-modal HDPE having a second melt index of 190[deg] C/2.16 kg of 5-50 g/10 minutes according to ISO 1133. The stretch blow-molding process comprises forming a preform from the plastic formulation using an injection molding process or a flow-molding process and in a temporally and/or spatially separated second process step producing a plastic bottle from the perform using the stretch blow-molding process, where the perform is stretched axially and radially. An independent claim is included for producing the plastic bottle in a two-step stretch blow-molding process as mentioned above.
