The functional garment, and especially a motor-cycle jacket, is composed of an outer layer and an inner membrane. The outer layer has at least one ventilation opening (1) incorporating a wind-permeable netting in the opening slit independent of the inner membrane, which can be closed by a watertight sliding clasp fastener. The ventilation opening gives a ventilating air flow (B) between the outer layer and the inner membrane. The inner membrane is of a material which is impermeable to wind, but allows breathing.
