Application: for determining deformed sections in a lengthy product, primarily of wire type, made of an alloy having a shape memory effect. Essence of the invention: an apparatus (Fig. 1) for continuous control of deformed section comprises a feeding block 1, a receiving block 7, a deformation roller 4, a voltmeter 3 with two roller contacts 2 and 5 thereto, and a product 6 (in this case, it is wire). The method comprises feeding the product 6 through the deformation roller at a fixed tension force; as a result, mechanical stress is generated in the wire product passing through the deformation roller, the mechanical stress, in turn, initiates direct phase transition, thermal EMF values are registered simultaneously with wire feeding. The mechanical stress value can be adjusted by changing the deformation roller diameter and the long product tension force. From changes in induced thermal EMF, deformed sections of the product are determined where the phase transition zone does not comply with the preset one, therefore, such sections are to be rejected. The technical result: lower power consumption and broader area of application as compared to the prior art.
