A basin (10) for swimming pools or artificial ponds, comprising, within a bed (11) excavated in the ground for its provision, a layer (14) for protecting the internal surface of the bed (11), a first waterproofing layer (15), above a protective layer (14), an internally hollow structure (16), constituted by a framework (23) made of plastic material, which is placed on the first waterproofing layer (15), an inner face (17) of said framework, directed toward the inside of the basin (10), being vertical in order to provide correspondingly a substantially vertical wall of a central tank (V) of the basin (10), wherein the framework is provided by a plurality of parallelepipedal modules, a second waterproofing layer (19) for said inner face (17) of the hollow structure (16), wherein the protective layer (14) and the waterproofing layer (15) are also placed on the outer face (18) of the hollow structure (16).
