BIOMARKERS ASSOCIATED WITH INTERLEYKIN-33 DISEASES, AND THEIR APPLICATION

This invention relates to the identification of certain biomarkers for use in the identification of patients who have or are likely to develop a disease or disorder mediated by IL-33 and who are more likely to be successfully treated with an IL-33 antagonist. The invention also relates to methods for treating a disease or disorder mediated by IL-33 in a patient by administering an IL-33 antagonist to a patient in need and monitoring the effectiveness of therapy using the biomarkers described in this document. Also provided are methods for reducing the level of at least one biomarker in a subject suffering from a disease or disorder mediated by IL-33, and methods for treating such diseases or disorders in accordance with the expression levels of one or more biomarkers. The methods of this invention include the administration to a subject in need of a pharmaceutical composition comprising an interleukin-33 antagonist.
