A customizable credit instrument (CCI) having a credit limit directly proportional to the earnings of an individual is envisaged. The credit limit is applicable to the CCI on the basis of the payroll cycle. An employer employing a plurality of employees can decide to make the CCI available to his employees by the way of agreement with a bank intending to issue the CCIs. In such a case, the employer will preferably enter into an agreement with the card issuing bank and also preferably modify existing payroll systems so that the phenomenon of the customized business cards is integrated into the existing payroll systems. The credit limit for the CCI is decided either by the employer or by the bank depending upon the payroll cycle, and the credit limit available to the user is modified on a daily basis based on the remuneration accrued in the user™s bank account.
