Abstract: Disclosed herein is a dissolution apparatus for testing a medicated chewing gum, as illustrated by the below figure. The dissolution apparatus comprises 10 of the invention comprises of a pneumatic cylinder 12, a piston shaft 13, a saliva reservoir 14 and a chewing gum holder or base 15 enclosed in a vessel 11. The piston shaft 13 is connected to two pistons namely piston 121 and 122, whereby piston 121 imparts up-down motion while piston 122 imparts a twisting motion to the piston shaft 13.
