The present invention provides the solid nanoparticles of anticancer drug selected from a group consisting of anthracycline antibiotics: More particularly this invention relates to the solid nanoparticles of epirubicin and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof administered in the form of injection via intravenous route in a patient suffering from breast cancer. The solution form of epirubicin offers a wide range of serious side effects. Further the solution form of said drug leads to harm the normal cells of the human body, these side effects may be avoided by administering the solid nanoparticles as discussed in this invention.
