ABSTRACT The present invention relates with the green synthesis of ultra-pure monodispersible FeGdO3 (Gd-SPIO) nanoparticles from Gadolinium trichloride hexahydrate (anhydrous ferric trichloride) molecular precursor. A method was developed for the synthesis of bimetallic Gd-SPIO nanoparticles using Hydrolytic approach of green synthesis to control the shape and size of the nanoparticles. During synthesis, another consideration was made for well refined architecture framework by controlled stoichiometric ratio to predict morphology based on precursor chemistry for its futuristic applications. The present invention provides novel nanosized bimetallic particles termed as Gd-SPIO� for contrast imaging and other biomedical applications.
