TITLE: DEVELOPMENT OF A NOVEL AND INEXPENSIVE LIQUID REMOVAL APPARATUS FOR CELL CULTURE APPLICANT: SRI BALAJI VIDYAPEETH ABSTRACT The present invention shall disclose a novel, simple and cost effective liquid removal apparatus customized for cell culture containers for removal of liquids from cell culture medium. The apparatus comprises of a cork[1], an expulsion tube[2] and a pressure generator[3]. Thecork[1] of predetermined shape is having a pressure orifice [4] extends from bottom to top of said cork [1] and an expulsion tube orifice[5] extends from bottom to side of the said cork[1]. The cork[1] is adapted to snugly fitted on to the said culture container neck, thereby not allowing any passage of air by the sides of the cork[1] into the culture container. The pressure generator[3] is removably disposed on top end of the pressure orifice[4] in the cork[1] for introduction of air or feed liquid in to the container. The bottom end of the pressure orifice[4]is characterised in encompassing a needle[5] extend for 0.5 to 2cm below the cork[1] and directing into the culture container upon fixation thereby making the flow of the introduced air at a nominal rate without disturbing the growing culture. The expulsion tube[2] is connecting outside of the container to inside of the container and is removably inserted into the expulsion tube orifice[5] of the cork[1] for expulsion of liquid from inside the container to outside in which the expulsion tube[2] is extends from inside bottom of the container to outside through the cork[1] via the expulsion tube orifice[5].
