ABSTRACT METHOD OF INTERACTING WITH AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND A GESTURE THEREOF The present invention describes a method of performing an interaction with an electronic device using a continuous directional touch expansion gesture. According to one embodiment, a user interface of the electronic device generates a visual user interface element corresponding to a touch gesture provided by a user on a touch responsive area of a screen for user interaction on the electronic device. The user interface then detects a deformation on the touch responsive area of the screen and further determines a direction of expansion or contraction of the deformation on the touch responsive area of the screen. The user interface also analyzes an extent and area of change in screen capacitance in a specific direction due to a change in the deformation.
