According to the present invention an ultra violet (UV) curable and high impact resistant formulation and a process for the preparation of the same is disclosed. According to the process an ultra violet (UV) curable and high impact resistant formulation is prepared by keeping 10% to 70% by weight of modified epoxy acrylate in a beaker. 0.1% to 20% by weight aromatic amide diacrylate / dimethacrylate is mixed with 20% to 80% by weight of a- unsaturated diluents properly at a temperature of 30 40 0C. 0.5% to 10% by weight catalyst with other acrylate monomers is then mixed at the temperature of 30 - 40 0C. All the above components are mixed well together at ambient conditions of temperature and pressure. 0.05% to 7% by weight other additives is then added in the above mixture and stirred for 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the temperature, to get clear mixture. The clear mixture so obtained is purged with nitrogen at a flow rate of 1ml / minute for 24 hours and then is kept in dark to remove bubbles, if any, present in the mixture. The formulation so obtained is used, after waiting for at least 12 hours, as a high impact resistant layer in the preparation of laminated glass.
