The present disclosure relates to a system and method for resource provisioning and service composition in cyber physical systems (CPS). In an aspect, the system can include a receiver can control the one or more processors to receive a discover message from a computing device; an information retrieval engine can control the one or more processor retrieve context information associated with the discover message; an network resource determination engine can control the one or more processors to determine, based on the retrieved context information, in real-time, one or more network resources available in CPS so as to complete one or more requirements of the discover message; a resource provisioning and activation engine can control the one or more processors to dynamically provision and activate, in real-time, at least one efficient network resource selected from the determined network resources to complete said one or more requirements.
