The present invention relates to the an emulsifiable formulation of oils with octopamine receptor binding activity having inhibitory effects on all stages of life cycle of a pest, including eggs, egg rafts, larvae, pupae and adult stage, thereby acting as a life cycle breaker. In particular, the present invention relates to a formulation with one or more essential oils having pest repellant, growth inhibiting and/ or cidal effects.
