The invention provides a vehicle approach warning system based on the cloud technology. The vehicle approach warning system comprises a distance measuring device and a driving device; the distance measuring device is arranged on one side or a plurality of sides of the rear side, the front side, the left side or the right side of a vehicle and used for detecting the distance from an approach object; the distance measuring device can be a distance measuring device which is arranged on the existing vehicle; the driving device is connected with a direction lamp or and a horn which is or are arranged behind the vehicle so as to receive signals of the distance measuring device; when the distance from the approach object is smaller than a safe distance set value, the direction lamp which is arranged behind the vehicle is driven to light up and flicker or and the horn which is arranged behind the vehicle is driven to sound and the driving is stopped until the distance from the approach object is larger than the safe distance set value. According to the vehicle approach warning system, a driver does not need to be aware whether objects around the vehicle are too close or not, the direction lamp can be driven to light up and flicker or and the horn can be driven to sound when the distance between the driving device and the approach object is smaller than the safe distance set value to remind the vehicle that the distance from the approach object is too close so as to remind the vehicle and the approach object which approach each other to perform corresponding evasive action, and accordingly the traffic driving safety can be enhanced.
