A strip or fabric of tows for a tire comprising parallel, alternately arranged polyethylene terephthalate (PET) cords having different lengths of twist is disclosed. Such a web or cable fabric for a tire improves high-speed durability, tread separation resistance, and impact resistance when used in the form of a crown ply spiral wound at zero degree angle in radial-ply type pneumatic tires.
