The present invention discloses a temporary immersion bioreactor system for the massive in vitro micro-propagation of plants formed by a single chamber constructed of an autoclavable resistant material. Said chamber allows locating a plant material therein and provides the tools for introducing a semi-solid or preferably liquid medium, which freely moves throughout the chamber. The bioreactor includes mechanisms for restricting the movement of the plant material. A manual, mechanical or automatic device is provided for allowing the movement of the culture and the plant material, in such a way that they remain in contact, thus enabling the temporary immersion stage; or displacing them for avoiding its contact, thus enabling the non-immersion stage. The temporary immersion and non-immersion stages are togglable, thereby converting the plant into seeding, organs or secondary metabolites. The device is provided with filtered ducts for allowing the air entering from the bioreactor, as well as blocking the pathogens.
