The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing yarns with photoluminescence properties based on polymeric composites. Said process consists of several stages, wherein an initial polyethylene terephthalate (PET) concentrate is produced, using the ultrasound-assisted extrusion process, with a perylene concentration and/or Zinc oxide nanoparticles of up 1% by weight. Subsequently, this composite is diluted to concentrations between 0.1% and 0.001% by weight of perylene/Zinc oxide nanoparticles. Said dilutions are fed to a spinneret where the mono-component and bi-component filaments or yarns of the shell core type are manufactured. In this way, the filaments obtained exhibit a photoluminescence with ultraviolet (UV) light. Additionally, these filaments are used to produce embroidery and fabrics. The present invention is directed to the textile industrial sector, for the manufacture of yarns, fabrics, clothes for industrial safety, military or official uniforms and sportswea r, among others.
